  • 名词短语:in the room(在房间里)。
  • 动名词结构:without saying a word(没说一句话)。
  • 疑问从句:about whether we should leave(关于我们是否该离开)。
  • 副词或副词短语:from here、until recently。

    • 简单介词:in、on、at、with,不再分为多个介词构词成分。
(Multi-word Preposition):because of、in front of、in spite of,多词组合整体引出补足成分。
    • including the cost(包括费用)、regarding the plan(关于该计划)。

The book on the desk is mine.

    She studies in the library.

    I am in the library.

    She depends on her parents.

I found the room in good condition.

Between ten and eleven would suit me.

  • before lunch:介词。
  • before we leave:从属连词。
  • 「I have seen it before.」:副词。

  • at:把时间看成时点或约定时刻,如 at 8 o'clock、at noon、at midnight。
  • on:具体一天或某天的一部分,如 on Monday、on May 1、on Monday morning。
  • in:把时间看成范围,如 in May、in 2026、in summer、in the twentieth century。

  • 一般时段:in the morning/afternoon/evening,但 at night。
  • 某一次早晨:on a cold morning。
  • 节日期间:at Christmas;节日当天:on Christmas Day。
  • 周末:英式常用 at the weekend,美式常用 on the weekend。
  • next、last、this、every 直接限定时间名词时,通常不加 at/on/in:next week、last Monday、this morning、every day。

There are sixty minutes in an hour.(1 小时有 60 分钟。)

    • during 不直接代替持续时长的 for:通常不用 during two hours 表「持续 2 小时」。

    We talked for two hours.

I lived there for two years.

I have lived here for two years.

I will stay for two weeks.

He fell asleep during the meeting.

She finished it in two hours.

    I'll return in two hours.

    Please reply within two days.

    • since I moved here
  • from:标出起点,可与 to、until 等配合。

    Leave before noon.

We had dinner after the meeting.

I have studied English since 2015.

By 2020, I had lived there since 2015.

The shop is open from 09:00 to 18:00.

I will work here from next Monday.

  • before:先于边界;before Friday 通常排除周五,与 by Friday 不同。

    Finish the report by Friday.

    I will finish by Friday.

  3. until:

    I waited until midnight.

  4. until:

    I will stay until Friday.

  5. not...until:

    She didn't leave until five.

  • 内部或范围:in the room、in China。
  • 位置点或活动地点:at the door、at school、at a concert。
  • 表面、线或约定位置:on the desk、on the wall、on the coast。

  • 机场:at the airport 看作活动或会合地点;in the airport 强调建筑内部,大小不是唯一判据。
  • 墙:on the wall 常指附着墙面;in the wall 可指嵌在墙体内。
  • 树:apples on a tree 常指结着的苹果;birds in a tree 常把鸟置于树冠空间。
    • 不是「原有用 on、外来用 in」:挂上去的 decorations on a tree 也用 on。
  • 街道:in the street 与 on the street 都成立,选择受具体意义及英美惯用法影响。

  • 目标与朝向:go to school / walk towards the station。
  • 内部位置与进入:swim in the pool / jump into the pool。
  • 表面位置与移上表面:sit on the chair / jump onto the stage。
  • 离开内部与离开表面:get out of the car / fall off the table。
  • 横跨区域:walk across the street。
  • 穿过内部或通道:walk through the forest / go through the door。
  • 越过上方或障碍:jump over the wall。
  • 沿路径与围绕:walk along the road / walk around the lake;round 也可表围绕。
  • 上下或沿路方向:walk up the hill / walk down the road。

移动动词不强制方向介词:walk in the park 表在内部走动,walk into the park 表进入。是否移动不能单独决定用 in/on 还是 into/onto/to。

    • over:可表在上方或覆盖,如 a lamp over the table(桌子上方的一盏灯)。
    • under:可表在下方或被覆盖,如 under a blanket(在毯子下面)。
  • 分别识别的对象之间:between Tom and Lily;an agreement between three countries。
  • 前后:in front of the house / behind the door。
    • before 主要表示时间或次序,空间用法较正式,如 speak before an audience;不与 in front of 处处互换。
  • 附近、旁边、相邻与对面:near the hospital;sit by the window;sit beside me;the shop next to the bank;opposite the school。
    • near 不要求紧邻;by、beside、next to 的具体侧重也有差别。
  • 内外:inside the box / outside the house。

above/over 与 below/under 各有重叠,不能绝对按接触、垂直或动静划界:

  • 覆盖:a blanket over the child。
The plane rose above the clouds.

  • in:语言、书写材料、支付形式、穿着,如 in English、in ink、in cash、a girl in red。
  • with:工具、伴随、特征,如 cut with a knife、coffee with sugar、a girl with long hair。
  • by:方法、交通方式、行为实施者,如 by email、by train、written by a student。
    • 方式构式 by + 交通工具常用零冠词:by bus/train/car。
    • 具体乘某辆车可用 on a bus、on the train、in a taxi、in my car。
    • by a student 表实施者、by the door 表位置;零冠词不是 by 的一般要求。
    • by + 动名词表示方法:「You improve by practising.」;对比工具 write with a pen。
  • on:某些媒介与约定方式,如 on TV、on the radio、on the phone、on foot。
  • through:过程、渠道、经历,如 succeed through hard work。

  • 受益、目的、原因、支持:for,如 a gift for you、study for an exam、thank you for your help、vote for the plan。
  • 缺少或不伴随:without,如 life without music、leave without saying a word。
  • 接收与对应:to,如 give it to me、the answer to the question。
  • 来源、起点、分离:from,如 a letter from Tom、from Monday to Friday、recover from an illness。
  • 主题:a book about physics、advice on learning English。
  • 反对与抵靠:vote against the plan、lean against the wall。
  • 部分整体、内容与度量:the cover of the book、a story of love、a cup of tea。
  • 原因表达:because of、due to、owing to、on account of 后接名词性成分;because 引导分句。
    • made of wood 常把 wood 作为构成材料。
    • made from wood 常强调原料转化:Paper is made from wood.

  • 价格水平或比率:sell at a high price。
  • 计量标准:get paid by the hour,按小时计费,不是持续时长 for an hour。
  • 支付金额:buy the book for 100 yuan,与 at a high price 的着眼点不同。
    • in progress、in danger、in tears。
    • on a diet、on duty。
    • at work、at dinner。
    • under construction、under discussion。
    • 普通「服药」可说 take medicine;特定治疗可说 be on antibiotics,不能把 on drugs 无条件译成「吃药」。

Besides English, she studies French.
Everyone came except Lily.
The report is clear except for a few spelling errors.

  • 动词 + 介词:depend on、listen to、belong to。
  • 形容词 + 介词:interested in、responsible for、patient with。
  • 名词 + 介词:a reason for、an increase in、a solution to。
  • 偏好与比较:prefer tea to coffee、be superior to,不套普通比较级的 than。
  • 同一中心词,不同搭配:agree with a person、agree on a plan、agree to a proposal。
  • 同一介词,不同词义:think of 可表想起,也可表评价,如「What do you think of it?」;think about 常表思考某事,不是简单的「of 瞬间、about 持续」。
  • 无需介词的动词:discuss the problem、enter the room 通常直接接宾语,不加 about 或 into。

  • 不定式标记 + 动词原形:「I want to learn.」;used to do 表「过去常做」。
  • 介词 + 名词、代词或动名词结构:「I look forward to meeting you.」;be used to doing 表「习惯于做」。

  • 普通动词性补足语:用动名词结构,如 without speaking、by practising、be interested in learning。
  • but 表「除……外」且前面有实义动词 do:可接不带 to 的不定式,如 do nothing but wait。不能据此给 without、by、in 等套用动词原形。

  1. 疑问

    What are you looking at?

The person I spoke to is my uncle.

  3. 被动

The child is well cared for.

  4. 不定式

I need a pen to write with.

正式表达可把介词和关系代词前置:the person to whom I spoke。

  • 可分小品词结构:turn off the light → turn the light off → turn it off。
  • 介词结构:look at the picture → look at it,不能说 look it at。
